Not having an account picture, one of the first things I wanted to do with Chrome OS was spruce up my online profile. Unfortunately, there seems to be
a bug with Flash permissions that's breaking capture apps like
PicMeQuick. Good thing
Jason Michalski found a workaround! Here's how to get the PicMeQuick app (or any SWF program) to play nice with Chrome OS, after the break.
- View the page source, and load the SWF file manually. Here's the file for PicMeQuick.
- With just the SWF file loaded, grant permissions in Adobe Flash.
- Head over to the Flash Player: Settings Manager, find the site, and set to always allow.
- Log out of Chrome OS, log back in, and launch the desired application.
The full application should now have access to your webcam!
